And So It Begins!

Ok. . .Here Goes.

Today at church, we were challenged by our pastor, to make a few changes in our daily lives. He's calling this program "iFit."

The "Fit" part stands for something but I can't remember exactly what right now. Once I know, I will let you know.

The goal is this: To change our physical lives to better ourselves and serve God, and to change our spiritual lives to better serve God.

So the first part of the challenge we were given is to take one chapter of the Bible each day, read it, sit and think on it, and then journal about it. What that chapter means to me, how it relates to my life, what my prayers are in regards to that chapter, etc.

The second part of our challenge is to get physically fit. We are to track our "mileage" as far as walking, running, or exercising, and our weight loss and turn it in each week. Our goal is to "walk" to the cross in Jerusalem and back. . .twice. . .by April. (Collectively as a church.)

So, in church today, after hearing this, I got really excited. This fits so well with the goals I have set for myself this year. I am taking on this challenge. . .and I challenge you all to help hold me accountable!

I will read my Bible every day. I will journal my thoughts and prayers. I will exercise. . . probably not every day. I will track my weight loss. I will make a difference in my life and the lives of my family by this time next year.

There it is. Set in stone. For the whole world to see. It's time to make my life what God wants it to be.
